Where is the Stand By system file!?

I've looked, but can't seem to figure out where it is. I was going to hot-key it so, if an application freezes, I can just hot-key into Stand By and all my stuff won't close. Not sure if it will work, but, I need to know where the Stand By .sys file, or whatever type of file it is, is at. So, does anyone know where I can locate Stand By within the system's file's?
