I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a whole bunch of little white fashing lights....my angels?

They were very small brinks of white lights and there were lots of them, (mayb 100?) I blinked and they were still there and I looked at them for a couple of seconds it was still there. It made me feel really protected. I just remember smiling and going back to sleep. I have heard that white flashing lights are your "angels". Has anyone had this experience? Can anyone explain what it could be? I know what I saw it was there.....
