What do you do if you become disabled in an accident and have no health cover?

Anne, there is a notation under your post that it was originally posted in "Yahoo Australia". If that's where you live, then my answer to you will be more limited than it would be if you were in the U.S. However, I do have some suggestions for you. First, understand that what you're experiencing is a state of grief. You're grieving because you have become disabled, which is a perfectly normal reaction. Second, if you're experiencing discrimination in your workplace because of your health condition, you're also frustrated and angry--not only at the bullies, but also again at your physical condition. If you can't depend on your family to be supportive, then you will have to turn elsewhere. I strongly recommend that you talk to someone who will listen to you without being judgmental. If you're a religious person, that would be a priest or pastor. If not, then seek a counselor. I don't know whether there are public health services where you live, but in the U.S., we have a governmental agency called health and Human Services. There should be something like that where you are. Third, please do not consider suicide as an "easy way out". There is a way to work through this, even though immediately it doesn't seem that there is. The fact that you've sought legal advice and could sue tells me you have some spunk in you. Use your anger in a focused way to solve this dilemma. You don't say whether you're permanently or temporarily disabled, nor what your disability is. If you have no health coverage, apply for governmental istance. You will have to have a doctor's statement qualifying you as disabled, but you can do a lot of the work yourself. If you have been qualified to work in the past, use your skills to pursue getting this resolved. Maybe if you get the governmental istance, you can get some rehab that will get you back to being able to work again. The rehab would at least get you to feeling better. Look in your phone book under Governmental Agencies. Call around until you find one that will help you. Good luck to you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
