Have to ask! Why do people put their every move and life situation on facebook?

I have a friend who i had to delete on fb because she just puts her every move on facebook! Its so aggravating. She tells everyone where she is going and what she is doing at the moment. But the sad thing about it is she isnt the only one but she is the worst at it. And she always posts questions on my page when she can just text me instead. She didnt start doing this until her and her boyfriend broke up! Geez! Why do girls do this?
