It's either rebuild my hard drive or call a priest...?

My DSL is provided by Verizon. It's acting completely possessed. But it's only my account. My daughters is fine. It mainly effects my tabs and my tabbed start groups. (these problems bother me most) At first my bookmarks had completely disappeared, then the tabs, but my bookmarks eventually reappeared a few weeks later. I've contacted verizon and even let them take control of my computer remotely (that was a bit un-nerving!) and he couldn't figure out what and why it was happening either. I spent another 1.5 hours with another tech yesterday going over everything and still no luck... Like I said... It's possessed. So I'm thinking of backing up everything I have installed and using my back up disks to rebuild my hard drive back to the factory settings. I know it's a lot of work to re-install everything, but at this point it gets my internet experiences get weirder everyday. So after I do this how do I get my internet back? Easy on the tech talk, I'm only a basic user! lol! Thanks!
