Joining Order of Eastern Star?

Hey. I am a freshmen in college and interested in joining the Order of eastern star but the only affiliation i have with them is that i KNOW a mason personally but i doubt if anyone in my family is a mason of any kind because i am virtually the first out of my family to go to college. Is there any way membership could be achieved without having a mason of any kind in my family? Thanks in advance.
