What is it that people still hold a premodern worldview of the bible despite of the advances of science?

Your basing your answers on science,are you completely familiar with the all aspects of what your talking about? How can Science prove it wrong? Can you give me a firm example? I can't give you one,yet then again I am not the one asking this question.The tower of babel was our stupidity and God was punishing them for their idiocy and disobedience,He loved them,I am sure they would haven't made it far,but they could have been hurt,as in your correct there's a LOT of sky,then the atmosphere,He loved them enough to stop them form getting hurt.Get it?
