If an asteroid wiped out most dinosaurs...?

Wouldn't there be substantial scarring on the earth from an impact of that supposed magnitude? Much smaller rocks leave giant (compared to a human being) craters. Wouldn't something like this leave a huge scar that would not change much over time? I would think that if an asteroid did wipe out a ton of dinosaurs, the rock would have to have left a great mark on the planet.
